City of Eniat

Trivia

Entiat’s Numeral Mountain is a steep cliff side in which high school seniors paint their graduating year. It has been an ongoing tradition since 1923.

Entiat

Community Description

Entiat has had two modern histories — that which occurred before Rocky Reach Dam was constructed on the Columbia River from 1956-61 and that which has occurred since then. The dam construction led to the flooding of the town’s original commercial district. Today, Entiat is moving toward a more vibrant future with completion of a large Columbia River park addition, trail, boat launch and other improvements — all thanks to the vision of residents who were determined to improve the waterfront area. Located along Highway 97A, about half-way between Wenatchee and Lake Chelan, Entiat has long promoted itself as a gateway to outdoor recreation in the Entiat Valley and beyond. Besides waterfront development, Entiat has witnessed major school upgrades and construction of a new fire station in recent years. The largest employer is US Aluminum Castings, a foundry that includes Paccar among its customers. Entiat residents also enjoy close proximity to employment and shopping in the Wenatchee metropolitan area, 18 miles away
